Operation Hearts and Minds, A-OK.

From a protest in the Cotbato City, Phillipines where the U.S. is holding "counter-terrorism military training" in conjunction with Filipino troops.

Is it just me, or do the current methods of "fighting terrorism" and "winning hearts and minds" seem to be not working?

The only people who are being fooled by American imperialism apparently are American imperialists at home. The rest of the world clearly knows a fascist, imperialist regime when it sees one. Great photo, Zeynep. Worth the new exchange rate of a million words for sure!!!

Sincerely,
Old & In The Way

As scary as the thought is, because of the implications, I'm beganning to wonder if this isn't just what the current methods are intended to do. Not only a scary thought but a crazy one right?? Tell me it can't be that the powers that be aren't doing these things to make people angry so that they can kill them as terrorists and then take the resources of their countries or at least control of the remaining population. PLEASE tell me that can't be so!!

Anyone catch that little interview with Lahdar Brami today? When asked was the war in Iraq worth it ? He replied that "it created more problems than it solved" He then went on to say(I"m paraphrasing here)that the US action in Iraq has greatly enhanced the power of lawless warlord elements in that society and allowed a firm foothold to be established by Islamic terrorists (which didn't exist before). He went on to say Iraq reminded him of Afganastan prior to the Taliban takeover.
