What happens if a high-level official tells a prominent member of the media elite that the widespread Muslim discontent stems mainly from our policies and what we do and not from an irrational hatred of who we are? What happens when the imperative not to contradict high-level officials clashes with the imperative of never straying from the official line?

Well, I'm a pacifist, but in this case I have to agree with Jonathan Schwarz. I would be compelled to grab her by the neck (perhaps gently), draw her close to me, and shout into her ear from an inch away, "Are you fuckin' deaf?" So, let see...I guess that would be a cry and not a laugh. There is only so much that even a pacifist can take before breaking. Count me broken on this one.
